The shooting for the movie has already begun last week, Mouni Roy has just joined the crew recently. This movie would mark her debut on the big screen. The movie is set in the UK in 1948 and pictures by fans of the sets have revealed Akshay Kumar in a kurta with dhoti, and Mouni Roy in a saree but a completely changed look to go with the times that the movie is being shot in. Gold is a period, sports and drama film revolving around the 1948 Olympics that were held in London. The plot revolves around the fact and story of how independent India won its first gold medal in hockey in the event. It has been revealed by sources that Mouni Roy will shoot extensively with Akshay Kumar and her part of the shoot would take around 20-25 days. The Naagin actor is known for her styling in ethnic Indian dresses and she wears a saree in the movie too but in a completely changed look. She was a contestant and a finalist on the reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2014. Akshay Kumar is known for releasing quite a few good movies every year. Among his upcoming films is Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, a movie depicting the importance of a loo in a household and how a newly-wed couple faces marital problems just because there is no loo in the house of the groom. Other cast members include Amit Sadh and Kunal Kapoor, who arrived in London before Akshay Kumar for the shoot and were being trained in hockey by various different coaches. The movie is being directed by Reema Kagti, who previously directed Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. and Talaash.
