Games News Developer clarifies Why Titanfall 2 does not have Custom Titan Loadout By Fabnewz Team Posted on November 10, 2016 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Titanfall 2: Titanfall 2 has been one of the biggest launches of this year. But since its late October release, fans have noticed a few things that they expected were missing. The Titans in Titanfall 2 all come with their own loadouts. However, in its 2014 predecessor, players could customise their Titan’s loadouts after they cracked a certain level with whatever items they had unlocked in the course of the game. However, the custom Titan loadout seems to be conspicuously lacking in Titanfall 2, and fans have been questioning why. Thanks to the developer team of Titanfall 2, we now have an answer, albeit one that requires some technical understanding. On a NeoGAF discussion thread pertaining to this very topic, a poster associated with Respawn‘s development team for Titanfall 2 has clarified the decision to can the feature. What he said goes like this: “The primary driver for this change in direction was a discovery post ship of Titanfall. The nature of mixed Pilot / Titan combat incentivizes players to choose loadouts that handle most situations well, rather than to counter player choices as you would in a healthy meta. This lead(sic) to an abundance of xo-16s, cluster missiles, nukes, electric smokes, etc in mixed Pilot / Titan modes.” The poster further added that the new character-style Titan loadout seen in Titanfall 2 was formed after ample experimation, and both the Street Fighter series and the League of Legends game served as heavy influences on the final design. However, he also admitted that while the developers are happy with how the new Titans have turned out for the time being, “there is certainly room for improvement,” so there might be a possibility that the custom loadout feature will be made available as part of a later patch. However, it should be kept in mind that no such prospects were mentioned by the poster. The NeoGAF post was picked up by iDigital Times. Titanfall 2 was released on October 28. You can play the new game on the Windows PC, PS 4, and Xbox One.
